View from the MoMA

This is a painting all about reflections. A view looking out from the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The large slabs of glass reflect the sky but add a distortion to the image and colour. The figures appear to be in a room on the other side of the street, but they are actually a reflection of the visitors to the MoMA in a large window. This opportunity for uncertainty as to what you are seeing is for the artist a characteristic of his experience in New York.
